Michael Helegbe looks up for first trophy at Kotoko
Posted on: Fri Jun 29, 2012
Mercurial player, Michael Kafui Helegbe says he is upbeat about Kotoko's chances of winning Sunday's match against Berekum Chelsea to lift the president's cup.
He says he has been starved of action for far too long and he hopes to put up a good performance to complement that of his colleagues to make it a memorable day for the Kotoko family.
In an interview with Kotoko Express, Helegbe who has not played a competitive match since January expressed satisfaction with the preparation they are being taken through and hope that the effort would be adequately rewarded with a win.
"I believe we have done enough preparation for the match and we are hoping that our hard work will meet luck on the day to I've us victory.
"The match has several issues at stake for us and as the league champions we need to add this important trophy to our haul of trophies. We need to win the trophy and that is what I have my mind fixed on for now.
"I am a member of Team Kotoko and so everything I do or say should be geared towards making the team stronger. If given the chance, I will play my best to add to the collective good of the team and that would be to win the match and pick the trophy at stake," was his answer to the question whether he had a special package for fans on that day.
"I ask fans to come to the stadium in their numbers to see us show a superior performance that will bring excitement and joy to our fans" Helegbe added..
