Four Kotoko players and two officials have a good chance of winning honours when this season’s Premier League Board (PLB) Awards Night slated for June 16 comes on in Kumasi.

At the launching of the event at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) secretariat on Wednesday, Awal Mohammed, Soulama Abdoulaye, Daniel Nii Adjei, Abdul Baba Rahman, Maxwell Konadu and Dr. K. K. Sarpong were nominated in six of the 12 different categories.

For the Best Defender category, Awal Mohammed was nominated alongside Berekum Chelsea’s Edward Kpodo and Ebusua Dwarfs’ Rashid Sumaila. Soulama Abdoulaye was nominated with All Stars’ Robert Dabuo and Berekum Chelsea’s Ernest Sowah in the Best Goalkeeper category.

Daniel Nii Adjei and Edubiase FC’s Emmanuel Baffour as well as Berekum Chelsea’s Emmanuel Clottey emerged as nominees for the Most Valuable Player award with Baba Abdul Rahman being named as nominee for Most Promising Award with Might Jets’ Eli Agbeko and Tema Youth’s Joshua Oninku.

Whereas Executive Chairman, Dr. K. K. Sarpong was nominated in the Best CEO category with Berekum Chelsea’s Obed Nana Nketiah and Ashantigold’s Kudjoe Fianoo; Maxwell Konadu, Medeama’s Bashir Hayford and Ashantigold’s Yaw Acheampong were nominated in the Best Coach Category.
