We want to finish unbeaten – Awudu

Posted on: Thu May 10, 2012

Suggestions that Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been playing it soft after winning the 2011/2012 Glo Premier League continue to be rejected by members of the technical team and the latest to do that is Physical Trainer, Awudu Nuhu who told Kotoko Express on Wednesday that the team’s resolve is to finish the second round of the season unbeaten.

Awudu said for a team that has been focused right from the start of the season, it would be wrong for anybody to think that they are playing anyhow because the target they set for themselves have been achieved.

“We do not build a good football team like that. We want to finish the second round unbeaten so how will we achieve that ambition if we decide to play it softly against our opponents” he said. “We are not doing that so people should give us a break” Awudu added.

Kotoko did not win their last two league matches against Berekum Arsenal and Heart of Lions in Kumasi and Kpando respectively.

There have been concerns over the team’s winless run with most fans erroneously thinking that the team might repeat their uninspiring performance this weekend at home to relegation threatened Bechem United.

Awudu Nuhu however dismissed such thoughts saying the team is poised for a win on Sunday.
