Supporters of Kotoko who were at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday for the 2016/17 Premier League fixture against Liberty Professionals have earned the praise of Croatian coach, Zdravko Logarusic for the conduct they put up throughout the game.

Liberty went up by a goal in the 35th minute before striker, Yakubu Mohammed grabbed the equaliser after 56 minutes from the spot following a foul on Emmanuel Gyamfi in the box. The former Ashgold attacker was on the score sheet five minutes later when he superbly connected home a supply from Kwame Boahene to make it 2-1.

The joy was massive. At the post-match press conference, Coach Zdravko Logarusic couldn’t hide his admiration for the supporters and his players as well. “First I have to thank the supporters for coming. I also have to thank them because when we had bad results from the start and they didn’t panic. They supported us properly” said the coach who disclosed what he told the players in the changing room to buttress his praise for the fans.

“I said to the players, you see, the fans are not panicking, why are you panicking? There’s no need to panic. This is 30 per cent of how we can play. We still we have lot of room to improve and we have to show ourselves” said Zdravko Logarusic.

“With the spirit of the boys and with spirit from the stands, we did it. The bench found a way but the players did the job and the supporters did the main job” added the coach who surely, along with the team would need more of such positive attitude in subsequent matches.
